The Halley Consulting Group Practice Evaluation
is designed to support the practice
improvement process, or as an assessment tool for a potential purchaser.
A practice evaluation identifies and documents areas of strength and
weakness within a particular practice setting and provides physicians and
management with recommendations to ensure the long term viability of the
Our Practice Evaluation includes the
Review of Financial Performance
The Halley Consulting Group Team provides the practice with a data
request to gather financial and other statistical information on the
practice for the most recent two calendar or fiscal years. We then
review the information as an introduction to practice performance.
Site Visit and Interviews
Our Team members conduct a site visit, including interviews with
physicians, site manager and selected staff members. These
interviews are guided by a questionnaire that helps us solicit
information about group cohesiveness, group decision-making, key
practice policies, implementation management, practice operations, human
resources, billing, management information, practice growth, marketing
and the physical plant.
Practice Analysis & Recommendations
Based upon the
interviews and the practice performance data, the Halley Consulting
Group Team documents the
practice's strengths and weaknesses compared to our financial and best
practice benchmarks. We review areas including provider and non
provider expenses, productivity and other operating expense ratios.
We then develop recommendations to capitalize certain strengths and to
overcome the weaknesses we have identified.
The Team documents our
findings and recommendations in a written report and presents those
findings to various stakeholders, typically, the physicians and hospital
